Jord Unveils New Logo and Visual Identity

Jord is committed to restoring the global carbon cycle and advancing the production of renewable products.

Jord unveils new logo and visual identity

Jord, the Swedish carbon credit and biofuel firm, is proud to unveil its new visual identity. Since its founding in 2016 (as Skymining), the company has expanded its geographical presence to include locations in Senegal and the Dominican Republic, and grown to serve businesses in a variety of industries in order to offset their unavoidable carbon emissions and help them to achieve their sustainable goals.

"At Jord, we understand that the carbon credit market is expanding and evolving quicker than ever. More businesses are looking to compensate for their unavoidable carbon emission and become more sustainable.  As a result, our services are continually evolving to match new demands, and we're thrilled to reveal Jord's new look, which will help us move forward to the next part of our journey." says Henrik Harryson, Jord's Business Development.

The rebranding work took nearly five months and three elements were taken into account during this process: a new name, logo, and color palette.

A new name

The new name "Jord" replaces the previous one (Skymining), better emphasizing the firm's Swedish heritage, natural and holistic approach as well as the new brand philosophy and values. Jord is a Swedish term that means "earth." It also refers to the ground, land, or soil in a broader sense. This new name is simple but meaningful, evoking aspects that, in a single word, describe the firm's ideals and operations. Furthermore, it is a word that is directly related to the Nordic roots and principles of Trust, Transparency, Innovation, Positivity, and Sustainability.

"It's a word that makes our name unique and solid - it's easy to remember and connotes our bond with Sweden, nature, and the soil in a clear and distinct way" adds Henrik.

Color Inspired by Nature

A color palette were developed that reflects the variety and beauty of the colors in the sky and soil. The primary hues are bright green and dark blue, which were complemented and contrasted by secondary light blues and tertiary greens, oranges, yellows, and lilac. They work together to create a clean yet sophisticated overall palette with flexibility and dynamism.

Green

Green is the most prevalent color in nature; it is thought to be calming and ubiquitous. Green is a color related to growth, balance, and renewal.

“We've redesigned our visual identity system for a digital-first world, with a new color palette, and a new library of icons inspired by our values, to bring our brand to life. We also have a distinct photography style that features genuine and diverse people who contribute to our global network.” adds Rocío López, Jord's Marketing Coordinator

A Meaningful Logo

The new logo is intended to be a simple and recognisable brand asset related to nature while also conveying confidence and strength. The "O" represents the sky as a blue arch, and thriving nature as green leaves.

Our logo is simple yet powerful, approachable and modern, inspired by natural elements such as the sky, the soil, and the planet earth; this logo embodies our values and purpose, moving us forward into the future.” tells Rocío
