Biomass Briquettes: Industrial-Scale Solid Biofuel, Compressed for the Burner

Why Jord Briquettes
The Middle Ground Between Loose Biomass and Pellets
Denser and more uniform than loose biomass, larger and lower-cost than pellets. The right format for stoker grates, large industrial furnaces, and hand-fed biomass boilers sized in tonnes per hour — without paying for the milling and binding pellets require.
High Bulk Density. Lower Logistics Cost per kWh.
Mechanical compression concentrates C4-grass into a dense, low-moisture briquette that ships, stacks, and stores more efficiently than chipped or pressed feedstock. Fewer truck movements, less warehouse footprint, and lower carbon cost per kWh delivered.
Drop-In Renewable. No Forest Required.
Carbon dioxide-equivalent negative across cultivation, processing, and combustion. Grown on degraded land — zero deforestation, zero competition with food crops. A renewable solid fuel buyers can defend in any sustainability audit.
Mechanically compressed C4-grass briquettes. Large-format. High bulk density. Engineered for industrial-scale combustion.
Jord's briquettes are a compressed solid biofuel produced exclusively from perennial C4-grass. The biomass is cut, dried, and mechanically densified under high pressure — without binders, additives, or chemical treatment — to form a uniform, large-format briquette engineered for industrial thermal systems.
The result is a robust, energy-dense block that combines the simplicity of mechanical processing with the handling efficiency of a consolidated fuel format. Briquettes resist breakdown during transport and storage, stack efficiently for bulk delivery, and feed reliably into grate-fired boilers, industrial furnaces, and co-firing systems. Jord briquettes deliver renewable thermal energy with the procurement and combustion economics industrial operators expect.

Calculate your CO2 savings with briquettes
See how much your operations could reduce annual emissions by switching to — or co-firing with — Jord briquettes.
Decarbonising industrial heat and power starts with understanding the numbers. Use the calculator to compare the emissions profile of Jord’s C4-grass briquettes against the fossil fuels currently used in your operations. Enter your annual consumption and select your fuel type — the calculator will show you the estimated CO₂ savings you could achieve each year.
Fossil fuel emission factors are based on EU reference standards. Calculator results are indicative estimates. For a detailed, site-specific emissions assessment, contact our technical team.

Bioliquid
A nutrient-rich liquid substrate from C4-grass, made for two jobs: as a high-organic feedstock that lifts biogas yield in biodigesters, and as a nitrogen- and phosphorus-rich input for agriculture and fertigation.
Independently lab-tested by Eurofins.
Pressed grass
Raw C4-grass biomass, mechanically pressed to reduce moisture and chlorine content before distribution. Pressed grass is the most direct form of our biomass feedstock — suitable for industrial combustion systems designed or adapted for non-pelletised solid biofuel. It offers a cost-efficient entry point for large-scale buyers operating facilities with flexible fuel handling capabilities.
Fuel pellets
Jord's fuel pellets are a non-torrefied solid biofuel made from C4-grass, engineered for biomass boilers, industrial heating, and pellet stoves. With a calorific value of ≥18 MJ/t and ultra-low sulfur content, they deliver reliable thermal performance for operations equipped to handle conventional pellet-grade fuel and a clean substitute for gas and heavy fuel oil in industrial heat applications.
Black pellets
Jord's black pellets are produced through a torrefaction process — heating C4-grass in a low-oxygen environment to create a denser, hydrophobic solid biofuel with a higher energy content than white pellets. Black pellets are compatible with coal handling, storage, and milling infrastructure, making them the preferred choice for coal plant operators pursuing a drop-in fuel transition with minimal capital investment.
