Jord featured in the Bioenergy Horizons documentary series

Jord is proud to be featured in the Bioenergy Horizons documentary series, a global initiative showcasing pioneering companies driving the future of sustainable bioenergy.

In the episode, Jord highlights how it is transforming C4 grasses into renewable fuels and certified carbon credits — delivering circular solutions that replace fossil fuels, restore degraded lands, and support rural communities.

Produced by the World Bioenergy Association (WBA) in partnership with Blackrook Media Bioenergy Horizons explores sustainable bioenergy development on a global scale. Alongside Jord, the series features leading organizations such as Graanul Invest, MDC Energia & Solvi, Aarhus University, IEA Bioenergy, and Greenfield Global, offering a comprehensive view of how bioenergy can support a low-carbon future.

According to IEA Bioenergy, bioenergy is expected to contribute up to 30% of global primary energy supply by 2050. It remains the only renewable source capable of providing heat, electricity, and transport fuels at scale, particularly for sectors that are difficult to decarbonise.

“Few people are aware of the remarkable progress bioenergy has made over the last two decades or the crucial role it will play in our future. We are proud to work with BlackRook, whose beautifully crafted films bring sustainability stories to life. Together, we aim to highlight the achievements and the people behind bioenergy projects. For bioenergy to fulfil its mission, it must live in the hearts and minds of society, and these films will help achieve that,” said Christian Rakos, President of the World Bioenergy Association, ahead of the series launch at COP30.

The Bioenergy Horizons series was officially launched at the UNFCCC COP30 Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025 and is now available to watch online.

“Bioenergy is one of the most tangible ways to decarbonise industry today,” said Eva Teekens, Chief Commercial Officer at Jord. “We are proud to demonstrate that a Caribbean country like the Dominican Republic can lead the delivery of regenerative energy at scale.”
“Being part of Bioenergy Horizons places the Dominican Republic firmly on the global bioenergy map,” added Charles Hefner, Managing Director of Jord in the Dominican Republic. “It shows that clean energy, soil restoration, and inclusive economic development can move forward hand in hand.”
